The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) is a state corporation established under the Kenya Roads Act 2007, with the responsibility for management, development, rehabilitation and maintenance of rural roads.

The Authority hereby invites PREQUALIFIED BIDDERS ONLY in the region for Routine Maintenance and Spot improvement works (Grading and Gravelling Equipment based) under 22% funding (Financial Year 2018-2019) on the roads as detailed here below.

SCOPE OF WORKS

The Scope of works is but not limited to as detailed on every road.

QUALIFICATION FOR BIDDING

The requirements for bidding are as follows:-

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS –SEE INTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS

1. Incorporation Certificate
2. Registration with NCA as a Contractor (Roads & Civil Works NCA 8 & above)
3. VAT & PIN registration certificates
4. Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
5. Proof of having opened a bank account
6. Signed and filled bill of quantities page
7. Signed and witnessed form of bid
8. Fill the attached Business questionnaire properly
9. Additional requirement for YWPD are: CR12 and certificate from National Treasury for YWPD
10. Rates shall exclude VAT which should be included as a separate item as indicated in the tender document. They shall remain valid for 120 days

TECHNICAL EVALUATION REQUIREMENT

Thresholds specified in the bid documents covering the following

1. Similar previous experience
2. Equipment Holding

• Professional and Technical Personnel

1. Turnover and Liquid assets supported by projected audited accounts for the last one year.
2. Current work load
3. Litigation history

Interested eligible contractors may obtain tender documents from the KeRRA website, www.kerra.go.ke or from the Procurement Office-KeRRA- Samburu  from 14/1/2019 during working hours (8.00am – 5.00pm) upon presentation of a banking slip indicating payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs 1000.00 (Kenya shillings One thousand only) per document, banked in Kenya Commercial Bank, Moi Avenue Branch Nairobi, Account No. 1114343196 in favour of Kenya Rural Roads Authority. Tender documents reserved for Y, W & PD are free.

Mandatory site visit shall be held as scheduled above starting at 8.00am at the respective constituency offices. Bidders will be required to provide their own transport during the exercise.

Duly completed tender documents in plain sealed envelopes marked with the respective tender number and project name should be submitted to:- The Regional Manager, Samburu Region

Or deposited in the tender box at the KeRRA Regional Office Samburu on or before 31/1/2019 at 10.00am. Opening of the bids will take place immediately thereafter at the same venue in the presence of bidders or their representatives who wish to attend. Late bids will not be accepted.
