RE: CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR CONDITION SURVEY OF EXISTING MAJOR DRAINAGE STRUCTURES (BRIDGES) UNDER KeRRA
REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATIONS
Reference is made to letter Ref No. PPL/2018/Vol. 1/15 dated 8th June 2018 seeking clarifications on the above mentioned project.
This is in reply to request to the clarifications.
Q1: The bridges are located in Kenya on all roads under the jurisdiction of KeRRA. The Client to provide the distribution of the total number of bridges per region to aid in preparing the financial proposal?
A1: The Client cannot provide the distribution as required by you. The main aim of floating this proposal was for the client to be able to map out the major drainage structures across all the roads under its jurisdiction after the completion of this exercise.
Q2: The stages of payment do not match with the methodology of undertaking the assignment. It will be ideal if the assignment was divided into regions i.e. Western, Lower Eastern, Upper Eastern, Nyanza, Nairobi, Coast, North Rift and South Rift and payments made accordingly. Splitting the assignment into preliminary and Final Report implies that the Consultant may visit bridge locations twice which is practically impossible?
A2: This is a single tender covering the entire country and payment for this exercise shall remain as stipulated in the RFP. The bidders are thus required to make all necessary arrangements to make all necessary arrangement to conform to this methodology and submission requirements as provided therein.
