SALE OF BOARDED ITEMS (UNSERVICEABLE, OBSOLESCENT, OBSOLETE, OR

SURPLUS STORES)

1. Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) is in the process of disposing of unserviceable, obsolescent, obsolete, or surplus stores items.

2. The Authority with the appointed registered auctioneer MS. TRENAD AUCTIONEERS of P.O. BOX 12853 – 00100, NAIROBI wishes to inform the general public of the intended sale of unserviceable and obsolete items on “as -is- where- is” basis on the following date and venue;

3. The intended items for sale by auction on “as -is- where- is” basis are as follows;

The obsolete and bounded motor vehicles can be viewed and inspected as from 5^th February 2024 to 13^th February 2024 at our Head Office and respective Regional Offices as indicated in the table above (from 09.00 am to 4.00 pm) before the date set for auction to allow prospective bidders to verify the details which may not be warranted or guaranteed as implied or provided by the Authority and the Auctioneer.

5. All auctions start at 10.00 am at the venue indicated above.

CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. All the interested bidders will be required to obtain a bidder number from the auctioneer TRENAD AUCTIONEERS P.O. BOX 12853 – 00100, NAIROBI, on the auction day.

2. The Authority reserves the right to accept or reject and annul the process at any time prior, without thereby incurring any liability to bidders. In case of annulment, all bidders submitted, and specifically, the deposit, shall be promptly returned to the bidders

3. Interested bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of Kshs. 30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand Kenya Shillings Thousand only) to obtain a bidding number for each lot/ item they are interested in.

4. The deposit shall be placed for each item or lot of the auction.

5. The refundable deposit shall be deposited in the KeRRA Account detailed below;

6. Interested bidders will be required to present their Bank Slips to the KeRRA Finance Office located on 2^nd Floor, Barabara Plaza, Block B, during normal office working hours (9.00 am to 4.00pm) and will thereafter be issued with a receipt.

7. The issued receipt shall be used to obtain the Bidding Number.

8. No Bidding whatsoever shall be allowed for a bidder without the Bidding Number.

9. The deposit will be treated as part payment for the successful bidders.

10. The Items/Asset are sold on ‘as is where is basis’ and are subject to a reasonable reserve price.

11. The successful bidder MUST pay a deposit of 25% of the purchase price by the fall of the hammer.

12. The successful bidders in the public auction shall be given a period of at least fourteen days from the date of the auction to pay for the items.

13. Where the successful bidder fails to meet the requirements in paragraph 12 above, the bidder shall forfeit the bid deposit.

14. The purchased Item/ Asset must be collected within seven (7) days after making payment, failure to which the purchaser shall be liable to pay storage charges of 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand) per day.

15. The successful bidders shall pay all costs, applicable duties, and taxes assorted with the transfer of the purchased Item/ Asset i.e., motor vehicle.

16. The unsuccessful bidders will be refunded their bid deposits on presentation of the original receipt within a reasonable time after the auction.

17. The Authority and the appointed auctioneer reserve the right to reject all bids below the reserve price.
